How it works
For each day, hours = (lunch out − start) + (end − lunch in). Week total = the sum of the seven days. Overtime is counted per workweek, so keep each week on its own sheet or its own total row.
Worked examples
- Start 8:00, lunch 12:00–12:30, end 4:30 PM: 4:00 + 4:00 = 8:00 hours.
- Five days of 8:00 hours = 40:00 hours for the week, no federal overtime.
- A biweekly sheet has two week totals, for example 42:00 and 38:00: 2 hours of overtime in week 1, none in week 2, even though the two weeks add up to 80.
Common questions
Can I print it as a PDF?
Yes. Choose Print, then Save as PDF in your browser's print dialog. The page prints the sheet, signature lines and the page address only.
Can I open it in Excel or Google Sheets?
Download the blank CSV and open it in Excel or Google Sheets. It has the same columns and a total row for each week.
How do I add up the hours?
Type the times into the Time Card Calculator. It subtracts unpaid breaks, handles shifts past midnight and shows overtime per week.
